Tough on Crime
Approachable by our
Citizens
A Sheriff has to be approachable and understanding but tough on crime.
As your Sheriff I will look for the best technology and methods to
protect and keep each citizen and their property in Wilson County Safe
and Secure.
I pledge a Sheriff’s Office striving to have a better working
relationship with each citizen, County Commissioners, and City
& Civic leaders. I promise to work hard to gain your
trust and respect, treat each resident of Wilson County with dignity,
respect and understanding. I promise to keep an open door policy and be
accessible to your needs.
Better Training and
Better Pay for Officers
The men and women of the Sheriff’s Office perform dangerous
tasks daily. They deserve a Sheriff that will work constantly to get
them better pay, the best training, and the best equipment available to
do their jobs safely. I have personally seen throughout my years of law
enforcement that with better training comes better morale and a more
productive officer. With a better, more productive officer comes better salaries.
We need new innovative programs for both adults and youth to prevent
and reduce the cycle of crime.
Jail Improvement
Each person arrested and detained deserves to be treated
professionally, fairly and be safe while in our jails. You deserve a
Sheriff that will work to reduce jail violence, inmate deaths, and
improve medical care though a more efficient jail operation. The Jail
and Workhouse should be accredited through the American Jail
Association.
Community Involvement
Every Wilson county taxpayer deserves a responsive Sheriff’s
Office. A Sheriff that not only realizes he is the Sheriff &
Chief Law Enforcement Officer within Wilson County but he is also your public servant
and willing to be an active part of each community within Wilson County.
When elected I will increase supervised trustee work crews with
minimum-risk non-violent offenders. Supervised work crews for not only
the rural areas of the county but if asked by city leaders we will
assist within Lebanon, Mt. Juliet & Watertown with road litter
and help our parks staff in keeping our public parks a place we enjoy
bringing our families to.
